Discover the Perito Moreno Glacier on an Unforgettable Tour


Tour Start

We depart from Puerto Natales between 06:15 and 06:40 a.m. The first stop is at the Río Don Guillermo Border Crossing, which opens at 08:00 a.m. and marks the frontier with Argentina. Make sure to bring your ID card, DNI, or passport in good condition, as these documents will be checked by Chilean and Argentine customs officers. Missing documents or poor condition may result in denied entry, requiring you to return to Puerto Natales at your own expense.


Journey

After completing the customs procedure, we continue our trip into Argentina. We will make a brief stop at La Esperanza around 10:00 a.m. (approximately 10 minutes), the only place on the route with restrooms and a cafeteria. We then continue towards the city of El Calafate, arriving around 1:15 p.m. Here, a local guide will join the group for the glacier tour.


Towards the Perito Moreno Glacier

From El Calafate to Los Glaciares National Park, where the Perito Moreno Glacier is located, the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Along the way, our guide will share information and showcase the stunning landscapes of Argentinian Patagonia. Upon arrival, we will present our park entrance ticket (AR$45,000 per person, not included in the tour price) and head to the walkways.


Exploring the Glacier

The walkways offer spectacular views just a few meters from the glacier, with a total path of 2 km to enjoy different perspectives. With some luck, you may witness ice calving or hear the impressive sounds of the glacier. In addition, you will have the option to book a one-hour navigation (AR$60,000) aboard a catamaran, getting even closer to this colossal ice mass.


Return to Puerto Natales

At the end of the walk and the navigation, we will return to the vehicle to head back first to El Calafate and then to Puerto Natales, where the tour will end between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m.

Day 1 — Full Day Perito Moreno

Tour Itinerary:

06:30 - 07:00 a.m.

Departure from Puerto Natales

  • First stop at the Don Guillermo Border Crossing (border with Argentina).

12:00 p.m.

Arrival in El Calafate

  • Pick-up of the specialized guide at the bus terminal.
  • Free time to stretch, shop, or use restrooms.

01:00 p.m.

Travel to Los Glaciares National Park

  • Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes journey to the Perito Moreno Glacier.
  • The guide will provide information and show the landscapes along the way.

03:00 p.m.

Exploration of Perito Moreno Glacier

  • Park entrance (AR$20,000 for foreigners).
  • Walk along the 2 km of viewing platforms for spectacular glacier views.
  • Option for a one-hour boat tour on a catamaran (AR$30,000) to get even closer to the glacier.

06:00 p.m.

Return to Puerto Natales

  • After the walk and boat tour, we return to the vehicle for the journey back.

10:00 p.m. Arrival in Puerto Natales

  • End of the tour.
