Description:
Leaving Puerto Natales at 07:00 am towards Torres del Paine National Park, we will cross the province around 2.30hrs until we arrive at Estancia Cerro Paine, place where our excursion begins.
The path extends for 20 kms, ascending thru the beautiful Ascencio Valley next to the homonymous river, going into dense native forests, and having at all times in front of us imposing mountains and glaciers; after four hours, we will get to the famous viewpoint Base Torres.
Once here we will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the best views of this biosphere reserve, 3 granite giants next to the Lake and Torres Glacier, Almirante Nieto Mount, Oggioni Cord and the characteristic biodiversity of the area. Being in this way an unmissable destination if you are a nature and trekking lover. Once we return, we get in the same transfer to be in Puerto Natales around 21:00 hrs.
Day by day itinerary
Day 1 — Tour Mirador Base Torres
06:30 – 07:00 hrs
- Pick-up from accommodation in Puerto Natales
- Meet your guide and group
- Departure toward Torres del Paine National Park (approx. 2h 30 min)
09:30 – 10:00 hrs
- Arrival at Estancia Cerro Paine (starting point of the trek)
- Brief technical talk / Preparation / Distribution of trekking poles (and crampons/headlamp if needed)
10:00 – 14:00 hrs
- Start of the hike to the Base Torres Viewpoint
- Approx. 11 km trek through the Ascencio Valley
- Bridge crossings, uphill sections, and stretches through native forest
- Final ascent section: rocky terrain
14:00 – 15:00 hrs
- Arrival at the Base of the Towers Viewpoint
- Free time to rest, have lunch (box lunch), take photos
- View of the three granite Towers, glacial lake, Mount Almirante Nieto, and Oggioni Range
15:00 – 18:30 hrs
- Begin return hike along the same trail (11 km)
- Descent through the Ascencio Valley back to Estancia Cerro Paine
18:30 – 21:00 hrs
- Board the transport
- Return to Puerto Natales
- Arrival at accommodation
